A painting competition was organized for the slum children on January 4, 2018. The topic was ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat: Swachh Bharat. More than 300 slum children participated in the competition which was organized with the collaboration of Delhi Public Library. Free stationery and refreshments were distributed, and cash prizes were given to the winners of the competition. Children living in Bawana slums sang songs and recited poems as well as gave speeches on ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Love for books.’ Appreciation from all quarters, including the Delhi Public Library, was received for encouraging the children to maintain cleanliness and to make sure they develop reading habits and get a good education.
