NGO Meet was organized on 12th October 2018 with the sole aim to create the best platform for social work students and practitioners to come together for a collaboration and dialogue with government and non-government organizations to provide the effective service delivery mechanisms in social sector. Focused on ‘Field work’ as the significant component of Social Work, around 150 representatives from various organizations participated in this event. It provided all the students with a well-balanced and systematic knowledge to develop critical and innovative thinking processes. The theme for this event was – ‘Social Justice and Sustainable Development – Gender, Health and Education’ and the chief guest was Shri T.D Dhariyal, Delhi State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. Prof. Ushvinder Kaur Popli, Head, Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia graced the occasion with her presence as the Guest of Honor. This event aimed to inculcate the skills and values of social work profession amongst students by establishing links through various corporate, government and non-government organizations by opening the space of dialogue for social justice in academia.
