Three days Orientation Programme was held from 20th July to 23rd July 2019 with an objective of creating an orientation and conceptual clarity regarding the goals of professional social work for all the students of B.A (H) Social Work. There was participation and guidance by distinguished resource persons from various sites of social work practice with marginalized groups in order to enhance the knowledge base as well as insight of students about the course. The major themes undertaken during programme were – “Social Work with Children” by Ms. Charu Sethi, Department of Social Work, “Working with people in Community: Field Reflections” by Shri Uday Shankar Singh, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, “Dealing with violence against women: Role of social worker” by Ms. Apurva Gautam, Crime Against Women Cell, “Research in Social Science” by Mr. Gaurav Rana, SRCC, University of Delhi, “Human Rights and Social Work” by Ms. Jaspreet Bhamra, Advocate and Social Worker, “Stress Management” by Dr. Ruchi Srivastava, Pahal-A Social Organisation, “Social Work with Marginalised Section” by Mr. Sudhir Maske, Department of Social Work, “HIV AIDS and Counselling: Case Reflections” by Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Jha, Delhi State AIDS Control Society, “Health and Social Work” by Ms. Aditi, A.I.I.M.S. The specific objective of this programme was to facilitate the transition of knowledge and practical aspect of Professional Social Work – values, ethics and goals to the future as well as current batches in the department.
