The Department of History has actively engaged itself in enriching teaching learning process. The dedicated faculty members of the Department has been imparting education in best possible ways including the significant use of ICT tools and techniques. Department sincerely put efforts to develop analytical thinking amongst the students to discuss about all the issues and dimensions of Indian and World History. Students are also given detailed education through different ways to excel in skill based courses like Heritage and Tourism, Archives and Museum, History and Archaeology and Popular Culture etc.

Department has successfully organized historical tours, seminars, webinars on diverse themes, student activities, fest and cultural events in collaboration with SPIC MACAY. Several Eminent Historians have been invited to share their expertise with the students like Prof. Heeraman Tiwari (JNU), Prof. S.Z.H. Jafri (University of Delhi), Prof. Seema Bawa (University of Delhi), Prof. Nirmal Kumar (University of Delhi), Prof. Shalin Jain (University of Delhi), Prof. Santosh Kumar Rai (University of Delhi) etc.

Recently Department has launched its e-magazine entitled ‘Aditian Chronicle’ with subtitle ‘Heritage Travellers’. The first edition is dedicated to exploration and information about the unknown historical sites and unknown facts about the famous historical sites inside and outside India. Aditian Chronicle is an educative platform for our students not only to learn about different unknown facets of History but also to learn about writing, compiling articles and editing skills.

Department has a dynamic ‘Vedic Society’ which organizes student activities like debate competition, poster making competition, film and documentary review competition and historical theme based dance and music competition etc. Department in collaboration with SPIC MACAY has screened classic cinema and Kathak performance for the students. Vedic Society has also organized Virtual visit to Historical places like Red Fort alongwith Panel Discussion and group discussion.

Department of History is proud to have vibrant and healthy mentor and mentee relationship which always helped us in achieving productive teaching and learning experience. Our students not only excel in their academic results but also perform brilliantly in different creative forums.
