The department of economics endeavours to impart specialized knowledge in the field of
economics to create a class of skilled professional and intellectuals to cope with the challenges
in the era of globalization. The department aims acquaint students with problem of the
economy and unable them to cope up with the professional competency. We guide our
students for successful careers as applied economists. The dedicated and sincere faculty is
devoted to enhance the capability and capacity of the students by creating opportunities.
The department of economics has applied the New Education Policy. The NEP 2020 has aimed
at almost doubling the Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education to 50 per cent by the year
2035, as compared to the current GER of 26.3%. It also has provision for greater autonomy to
the academic institutions offering quality higher education. The department of economics has
adopted this NEP for the betterment of the students. It aims to equip the students with
sufficient knowledge and skills so as to understand media discussions by giving activities like
assignments, projects and presentations.
The curriculum of courses offered is designed to teach, train and prepare them with scientific
knowledge in acumen in multi-disciplinary area. Department introduces new courses time to
time and make tutorial effective for students by establishing close contact between students
and teachers. The vision of department consists of exploring the economic study and analysis,
policy framing and implementation issues faced by Indian and global economy.
