Report on Research Advisory Committee
The Research Advisory Committee of the College under the convenorship of Prof. Bhawna Rajput Counsel’s faculty members for Research regarding research policies, procedures, and initiatives and explores research collaborations with external researchers, including academic institutions, research agencies both domestically and overseas. During various years committee took the following initiatives:
1. National Conference on E-Waste Management and Swachh Bharat Mission
National Conference on E-Waste Management and Swachh Bharat Mission sponsored by University Grants Commission was organized on 10th April 2019 by Aditi Mahavidyalya at Department of Environmental Studies at University of Delhi in New Delhi. The event facilitated opportunities for networking, collaboration and exchange of ideas with renowned experts in E-waste Management & Recycling research and development. Eminent speakers from Ministries under GOI, leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars in the domain of interest with around 200 participants from around the country were brought together to share their expert knowledge, information and best practices, and build strong vision for E waste management. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of hon’ble chief guest Dr Sandip Chatterjee, Director, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; Guest of Honor – Professor Inderjit Singh, Head, Department of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi.There were academic presentations of research papers and E-posters from scholars from interdisciplinary fields. The souvenir of published abstracts of the research papers of the conference was also released.
2. UGC Sponsored National Conference
To strengthen the Government’s endeavour to provide access to higher education clubbed with skill enhancement educational programmes to every women, Research advisory committee in collaboration with CPDHE(University of Delhi) took a very promising initiative by organizing an UGC Sponsored National Conference on ‘Revamping Higher Education for Girls in India by Exploring Possibilities through Traditional Innovative Teaching Techniques- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Perspective’ on 28th August, 2019 at CPDHE(University of Delhi). The Conference offered an important forum for academicians, higher authorities of Government, NGOs and research scholars from across the country to exchange their research and experiences that empowers women for high performance in professional and domestic sphere. The Conference was attended by more than 230 delegates from all over the country. There were 43 academic presentations of research papers and e- posters by the scholars of different disciplines. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Nita Choudhury, IAS, Rtd. Secretary, Member, Central Administrative Tribunal, New Delhi, Prof. Geeta Singh. Director, CPDHE(University of Delhi), Prof. Pamela Singla, Department of Social Work, University of Delhi, Dr. Sunil Thakur, CMO, WUS, University of Delhi, Prof. Namita Ranganathan, Head and Dean, Department of Education, University of Delhi, Ms. Pinki, Additional Session Judge , Tis Hazari Court. 43 presentations of research papers and e-posters were made by the scholars of different disciplines. The presentation of Delhi Police representatives on Himmat Mobile Phone App was made to create awareness on its use for women safety.
3. National Webinar
Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) is one of the most user-friendly statistical software for researchers providing visualization and data analytical tools. Research Advisory Committee of the college organized national webinar entitled “USING SPSS TO UNDERSTAND RESEARCH & DATA ANALYSIS” in collaboration with ICFAI Business School (IBS) Gurgaon on May 24, 2020 on ZOOM. The webinar provided the participants with a practical application of the statistical component of SPSS. . It helped the participants to review several statistical techniques and gain an understanding of various application tools of the package. The webinar was designed for participants who intend to learn the use of SPSS for data management and data analysis. Around 300 participants engaged in the educational institutions, corporate world, public sector, research institution and NGOs participated in the webinar. The webinar was delivered by seasoned trainers who have vast experience as expert professionals in the respective fields of practice.
4. Research Gallery: INAUGURATION OF “WALL of Research innovation”
Research development has generally been recognized as having an important role in ensuring that teachers are part of a skilled and up-to-date profession. The quality of research work directly translates to the quality of teaching and learning in the college. Aditi Mahavidyalaya provides a research environment that enables students and teachers to engage in research activities and develop highly valued competencies amongst them. The Research Advisory Committee coordinated the development of a research gallery in the college to showcase and recognize the various innovative, major and minor projects of the teachers and students that represent an interesting combination of research activities and technological innovations. The research advisory committee organized inaugural function on 26th August 2021 on the research innovation arena of the institution. The committee has dedicated a wall to showcase excellent research innovation contribution of the esteemed faculty of college. In the inaugural function, Head of the Institution, Dr. Mamta Sharma along with Hon’ble Chairman of the College, Mr. Prabhanjhan Jha and other dignitaries of the governing body and Convenor, Dr. Bhawna Rajput graced the ceremony and inaugurated “Wall of Research Innovation “ with pride in hearts and smile on faces. This is an exemplary wall showcasing the variety of projects the faculty of the college involved from time to time like University Grants Commission- Major and Minor Projects, Innovation Projects and International Fellowship Projects. This will stimulate and keep the morale high by infusing the research fervor among the faculty in future times too. “The building itself is only a shell to make possible the work that is done inside it. It is by the quality and volume of its scientific work that an institute like this must be judged, by the extent to which it has helped to explore and push back the frontiers of knowledge.”
5. MOU with National Productivity Council of India.
MOU with National Productivity Council of India. The Research Advisory Committee signed an MOU with National Productivity Council of India. The Inauguration of the programme was held on 22nd October 2021. The purpose of this MOU is primarily to do capacity building, training,consultancy and research. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Nikhil Panchbhai, Director and Group Head (IT), National Productivity Council. The areas of collaboration include sustainable development goals, Management and Business disciples such as marketing, HR, Finance, Operations and others. The aim of the MOU is to provide domain specific Technical Expert Support in areas of collaboration/SoW in consultancy assignments for Government and private Sectors within India. To conduct joint research, evaluation, assessments and consulting in the defined areas and collaboration/SoW above. The objective of the MOU is to jointly organize and conducting Workshops/Training/e-learning Programs/Awareness programs towards building awareness on Digital Skills and Capacity Building initiatives for various central, state and government departments as well as Industry sectors and educational institutions. 6. Report on the Launch of RESEARCH CELL
Research is the back bone of academics. The role of research in the academic institutions is of fundamental importance for its sustainability and development in the modern world. The Aditi Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi launches its dream into reality by establishing a Research Cell on 27, December, 2021 under proficient leadership and direction of Principal of the college, Prof. Mamta Sharma along with dynamic impetus of Prof. Bhawna Rajput, Convenor, Research Advisory Committee. On the occasion of the launch, the convenor Prof. Bhawna Rajput formally gave the welcome address and invited the Head of the Institution, Prof. Mamta Sharma, Principal for the inaugural address. The major highlight of the inaugural address of the official launch is announcement of the financial support to faculty and students to conduct research along with objectives and activities outlook. The incubation center to facilitate the research fervor will be an innovative upshot in the near future of the institution. It is unique initiative to promote research and innovation under NEP2020 umbrella in the institution. The special guest of the event was Prof. Rajni Abbi, the Chairperson, Governing body, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi, graced the occasion with her presence and special address to the faculty and students. She motivated the institutions human resources to attain high standards of excellence not only in academics but also lifelong learning by being open to research at this preliminary level is real contribution to society at large. The launch has also successfully talked about scheme of research support, thrust areas of research projects, selection procedures and outcomes in the form of publication and reached to its closing remarks by presenting vote of appreciation behind this superb scheme and national anthem.
7. Enlisting of Research and Academic Journals
Enlisting of Research and Academic Journals The committee coordinated the enlisting of around 20 Research and Academic Journals in the UGC approved list of Journals in Feb, 2022. The committee organized the orientation lectures in research for the students and teachers to promote Research Climate in the Institution.
8. MOU SIGNING CEREMONY
An MOU signing ceremony was organized by Aditi Mahavidyalaya in association with NEDC on 15th of March, 2022, in virtual mode on the google meet platform. The Convenor of Research Advisory Committee of Dr. Bhawna Rajput delivered welcome address to begin with the program and gave opening remarks on the MOU and welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and participants. Professor Mamta Sharma , Principal, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, presented her inaugural address and congratulated the convenor the efforts behind MOU signing ceremony and welcome the resource person. Dr Prince Sharma, the Chairperson of the college graced the occasion and encouraged the gathering with his inspiring words and also welcome the resource person and showed his gratitude to the Prof Mamta Sharma and Research Advisory Committee. Prof. Mamta Sharma, Principal, Aditi Mahavidyalaya congratulated the research committee for the successful signing of this MOU. She connected this step with Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Dr Prince Sharma, Chairperson, governing body, Aditi Mahividyalaya congratulated the research committee and thanked the experts to spare their valuable time. Dr Bhawna Rajput took over and invited the chief guest of the event Mr. A Din Pangotra, an author, mentor, Senior Entrepreneur & Investor, CEO of upcoming National Portal IHUNTBEST, Chief Mentor of NEDC. He explained how in 2011, NEDC was founded by the ministry as a mainstream in the development of students. NEDC is incorporated as a research and training organization for Entrepreneurship & skill empowerment. They provide Professional Certified Trainings and workshops in Colleges, Institutes and Universities for skill and Entrepreneurship Development Program in every corner of India. He pleasingly added that they have reached more than 300 colleges and 50,000 participants all over India with their programs focusing on Entrepreneurship Development. He highlighted on the main objectives of NEDC that is Entrepreneurship and Skill Empowerment, to devise and impart training to students, to drive and develop practical curriculum to enrich experience and viability, project planning from introductory to growth stage and to guide the right structure with the time span. He gave the overview of their program in different parts of India and talked about digital literacy program, HR generalist program, Finance program, MS and advanced excel certification program, import export program etc and about fee structure of the program which is like 80% is to be sponsored by NEDC after this signing MOU with college is a boon for the students. The session ended with the launch of MOU and is a stepping stone in the development of entrepreneurship at institution. Dr Rajeev Kaur, Co-convenor of the research advisory committee formally gave the vote of thanks to the dignitaries and participants for a patient hearing and be a resource to the event and recognizes all the efforts in the making of this presentation. The event is proceed towards it finale with the national anthem and was commemorated by a group picture.
